See Me Neurodiverse is a volunteer-led nonprofit serving neurodivergent individuals and families in our community. Through community events, support and social opportunities, education, advocacy, and partnerships, we work to create spaces where different brains are understood, valued, and included.
As See Me Neurodiverse continues to grow, we're looking for passionate people to join our Board of Directors and help shape what's next. Our events are mainly held in the Twin Cities South Metro, including Savage, Prior Lake, Burnsville, Apple Valley, and Shakopee.
What We're Looking For
You don't need to be an expert in neurodiversity or have previous nonprofit board experience to apply.
We're looking for people who:

Believe in the mission and values of See Me Neurodiverse

Support neurodiversity-affirming and inclusive practices

Are interested in getting involved in our programs, events, and initiatives

Enjoy collaborating with others and bringing ideas to the table

Want to use their interests, experiences, or skills to strengthen our organization and community
We especially welcome neurodivergent adults, parents and caregivers, educators, professionals, community members, and others with lived or professional experience related to neurodiversity.
What Does Being a Board Member Involve?
See Me Neurodiverse is a volunteer-led organization, and our board plays an active role in both guiding the organization and bringing our work to life.
Depending on their interests and strengths, board members may:

Attend and participate in regular board meetings

Support committees, programs, events, or special projects

Help with our annual See Me Neurodiverse Community Fest

Participate in planning and decision-making for the organization

Help develop new programs and opportunities for our community

Build relationships with community partners and supporters

Help spread the word about See Me Neurodiverse and our mission
We know our board members have jobs, families, and plenty of other responsibilities. We're not looking for unlimited availability. We want to build a board where people can contribute in meaningful ways while working together as a team.
What You Can Bring
A strong board benefits from different perspectives, experiences, strengths, and ways of thinking.
Maybe you're great at organizing. Maybe you love planning events, connecting with people, fundraising, writing grants, managing finances, creating programs, working with teens, building community partnerships, or you have a completely different strength we haven't thought of yet.
You don't have to bring all of those skills. We're building a team.
Some areas of experience that may be especially helpful include nonprofit leadership, fundraising and development, finance, communications and marketing, event planning, community outreach, education, healthcare, disability advocacy, volunteer management, and lived neurodivergent experience.
